Ecomonic powerhouse at LSC
Our own Lone Star College University Park (Texas 249 at Louetta Road in former Hewlett-Packard buildings) will provide the backdrop for an interesting event Feb. 11 from 8 a.m. to noon the Houston North Economic Outlook Symposium.
The deadline for registration is Feb. 4 so hurry, hurry if you want to take part!
It is a bit pricey for individuals - $150 but the line-up looks interesting.
Texas Governor Rick Perry will be the featured speaker.
State Reps. Patricia Harless (District 126) and Debbie Riddle (District 150) from our own Spring and Tomball communities will also speak, as well as our Precinct 4 Harris County Commissioner Jerry Eversole. Lone Star System President Richard Carpenter and Precinct 2 Montgomery County Commissioner Craig Doyal will also share their comments and insight.
The six-organization group that is putting it together also boasts four heavy-hitting organizations from our own backyard: the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce, Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce, North Houston Association and Houston North Economic Forum.
The goal of the symposium, organizers say, is to provide a new, collaborative setting at Lone Star College University Park to analyze the greater North Houston's most important pro-active economic issues, create shared visions of the future and formulate innovative strategies to achieve these visions."
