Grant enables Cy-Lakes students to attend field trip
More than 160 students in Amber Schumacher's aquatic science classes at Cypress Lakes High School will be able to go on a field trip from Monday, Feb. 27 through March 5 to the Little Cypress Creek Preserve, Telge Road at Spring Cypress Road, Cypress, thanks to a grant from Target.
The 58-acre preserve in northwest Houston will allow students to study the local ecology and consider the issues that face the Houston area. They will observe water quality, watershed and native and invasive plants.
The main objective of the field trip is for Cy Lakes aquatic science students to gain a deeper understanding of science through an interactive, hands-on, experiential experience.
