JVHS students named winners in competition
A saxophone quartet, made up of four students at Jersey Village High School, was given the honor of winning the Houston Symphony 2012 Young Artists Competition.
Presented by Fidelity Investments, the competition included more than 60 entries from the Houston area. The winning quartet included Mitchell Brackett, Oscar Gonzalez, Zachary Martinez and Chase Skweres. They performed a live audition of "Andante and Scherzo for Saxophone Quartet" by Eugene Bozza.
The quartet will present a live performance with the Houston Symphony on July 4 at the Miller Outdoor Theatre.
