Rupert turns in strong performance, Schaekel, Guest contribute in win
Concordia University pitcher Austin Rupert allowed one earned run in 6 2/3 innings and Brent Schaekel and Quinn Guest went two-for-five and one-for-four, respectively, in a 5-4 road win Saturday against Sul Ross State University.
Rupert, a sophomore right-hander for the Torandos, struck out four batters. He is a 2009 graduate of Langham Creek High School.
Schaekel, a 2009 graduate of Concordia Lutheran, is a sophomore outfielder. He also scored two runs in the victory.
Guest, a junior outfielder who bats left and throws right, is a 2008 graduate of Pearland High School. He also knocked in a run.
