Cypress surgeon named in wrongful death suit
A family is suing after a loved one died shortly after undergoing bypass surgery performed by a Cypress-area surgeon.
Carolyn Jackson, on behalf of the deceased Jeffrey E. Jackson, and others filed a wrongful death suit on Thursday, March 22 in the Harris County District Court against Dr. Daniel Garber Stroud, practicing out of Cypress.
Jackson says on Jan. 27, 2011, her husband, Jeffrey E. Jackson, went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with severe coronary artery disease.
On Feb. 3, 2011, Stroud performed bypass surgery on Jackson, who died later that day because no action was taken to treat his bleeding condition, according to the brief.
Jackson is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Robert J. Killeen Jr.
