Lone Star College-CyFair to hold poetry slam

In celebration of National Poetry Month, Lone Star College-CyFair will hold its Spring Poetry Slam at 7 p.m. April 3.

Individuals are invited to perform or to watch the entertainment. According to the press release, Gail Marxhausen, professor of English, said, "Be prepared for a rowdy atmosphere as we celebrate the freedom of expression with our annual Poetry Slam."

Competitors will rhyme in different styles to engage the audience. Contestants are asked to prepare three original poems, and each poem performance should last no longer than three minutes. The registration deadline is Monday, April 2.
