Suspect sought in hit-and-run death of Richard Ybanez
Harris County authorities and Crime Stoppers of Houston are searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit a man trying to cross East Sam Houston Parkway and then fled the scene while the man lay in the highway with fatal injuries.
Richard Ybanez was attempting to cross the road in the 4300 block of Sam Houston Parkway at Woodforest at about 8:45 p.m. March 14 when he was struck by a red four-door sedan, according to a Crime Stoppers news release.
Ybanez was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The red sedan, which investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office believe has damage to the left front, was last seen southbound on the service road toward U.S. I-10.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information concerning the driver's identity is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
