Cy-Fair first-graders given dental care kits

The Fantastic Teeth Fan Club recently gave every first-grade student at Adam Elementary and Millsap Elementary free tooth-decay prevention kits, assembled by members of the Cypress Mason Lodge.

Each kit contained a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, healthy teeth sticker, a two-minute timer to indicate optimal brushing time, a summary of Masonic Home & School of Texas services and healthy teeth educational information in Spanish and English.

The Fantastic Teeth Fan Club is a program sponsored by the MHS and local Masonic lodges to prevent toothaches, reduce missed school days due to dental problems and cut the cost of dental treatment. According to "Oral Health in America: A Report of the Surgeon General," tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease, affecting poor children more frequently than others.
