Lone Star College offers financial aid workshops

Financial aid workshops will be offered at Lone Star College-CyFair through May 11.

According to a press release, parents and students can receive on-site assistance while applying for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, during the workshop, which will be available at various times April 21, April 23, April 30, May 1, May 2, May 9 and May 11 in the Center for Academic and Student Affairs building at LSC-CyFair, located at 9191 Barker Cypress.

The press release said FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid programs such as grants, loans and work study options. Students and parents should bring along all 2011 tax information to fill out the FAFSA.

A workshop will be available from 10 a.m. to noon in Vietnamese and from noon to 2 p.m. in Spanish on April 19.
