Lone Star College Foundation to host StarGala
The Lone Star College Foundation’s StarGala 2012 will take place from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on May 5 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott.
The annual fundraiser helps fund scholarships for Lone Star College students.
This year's theme will be “Run for the Roses,” based on the Kentucky Derby. The event will be hosted by Saul and Lisa Valentin and will feature dinner, live and silent auctions and music by The 5th Avenue Band. Attendees will also have a chance to donate $500 for the “Support a Student” scholarship.
The guests will hear from student scholarship winners on their experiences at Lone Star College. The night's events will also include a tribute to Lone Star College founding member Dr. Joe McMillian and a posthumous recognition of the school’s first chancellor, Dr. Joe A. Airola.
Event sponsors include the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, The Feldman Family, Toni Lawrence, TechKnowledge Consulting Corp., Newpark Resources, Inc., Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc., and Valence Operating Co.
The event is black tie optional. Kentucky Derby attire, including derby hats, is encouraged.
The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center is located at 1601 Lake Robbins Drive. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities begin at $500.
