Methodist Willowbrook Hospital opens new advanced hand center
The Hand Center at Methodist Willowbrook, directed by hand and upper extremity specialist Dr. Korsh Jafarnia, has opened on the Methodist Hospital Willowbrook Campus.
The state-of-the-art orthopedic facility includes an indoor throwing lane and cage, hand therapy stations and specialized teams of hand therapists, licensed trainers and medical assistants. Procedures include complex hand, wrist and elbow injuries and conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's Disease, Trigger Finger, fractures, arthritis and other degenerative diseases.
"We've developed a complete hand and upper extremity care center, equipped with the latest technology and diagnostic tools and treatments available," said Jafarnia, director of the Hand Center at Methodist Willowbrook and chief of the Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Willowbrook, in a press release.
Methodist Willowbrook CEO Beryl Ramsey said the addition of the hand center is part of the hospital's long-term plan to provide resources once only found at the medical center to families in northwest Houston.
"We're committed to providing the latest treatment and technology available ... with community warmth and local accessibility," he said. "The Hand Center now open on the Methodist Willowbrook campus and expanding services, from pediatric orthopedics to care of the elite athlete, bring us one step closer to achieving this."
Methodist Willowbrook is located at 13802 Centerfield Drive. The Hand Center is on the top floor of the Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.
