Cy-Fair ISD schools recognized in local ranking

After an evaluation of schools by the Houston Chronicle and nonprofit Children at Risk, 74 Cy-Fair ISD schools were ranked among the top Houston-area schools.

Ratings were based on TAKS, SAT/ACT, Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate, graduation rate and poverty rate.

CFISD high schools appearing on the list are Cypress Woods (29), Jersey Village (36), Cy-Fair (37), Cypress Creek (38), Langham Creek (44), Cypress Falls (46), Cypress Ridge (71) and Cypress Springs (85). Cypress Ridge High School ranked fifth among Greater Houston’s Best Urban, Comprehensive High Schools.

CFISD middle schools on the list are Hamilton (38), Goodson (50), Aragon (88), Smith (90), Labay (92), Cook (108), Kahla (124), Spillane (132), Arnold (139), Bleyl (144), Truitt (167), Hopper (177), Thornton (187), Dean (192), Watkins (194) and Campbell (206).

CFISD elementary schools on the list are Sampson (16), Hamilton (19), Warner (35), Swenke (36), Keith (86), Birkes (90), Lee (92), Ault (109), Copeland (115), Black (132), Millsap (140), Owens (142), Matzke (148), Gleason (155), Bang (165), Jowell (168), Moore (183), Farney (213), Sheridan (226), Yeager (240), Adam (243), A.
