Charles Fly

Charles Fly, a Jersey Village High School senior, has been named a 2012 State Farm Texas Scholar.

Fly was one of 50 high school seniors to be recognized by the Texas Scholar program for his academic and extra-curricular excellence such as receiving the Distinguished Honor Roll Medal at Jersey Village and the National Spanish Exam Premio de Excelencia Award, being a National Merit Finalist, an AP Scholar and being a member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Spanish Honor Society.

Fly is second in his class of 649 students and has participated in numerous extra-curricular activities including serving as student ambassador to the Students With a Voice committee, as a member of Freshman Friends, as a member of the Falcon varsity football, and as a member of the Falcon soccer team where he served as captain his sophomore year.

Outside of school activity, Fly has also volunteered more than 200 service hours to the Brookwood Community and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 747.

Upon graduating with high honors, Fly will attend Texas A&M University to study industrial engineering.
