Six CFISD teams advance to finals in ImagiNation event

After competing in the Destination ImagiNation State Tournament April 15 in Corpus Christi, six CFISD teams have qualified to compete in the Global Finals May 23-26 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Team Kram Jam of Swenke Elementary School placed first in Challenge C, “Coming Attractions.” The team consists of Conner Byrd, Kyhati Jariwala, Karson Funderburk, Alyvia McEwen, Cesar Padron and Max Fondren.

The A. Robison Elementary School team Brainiac Builders won second place in Challenge E, “Hold It.” The team consists of Michael Norman, Trevor Krupke, Ethan Duong, Alex Hamilton and Mira Keller.

From Salyards Middle School, the team Brain Trust won fourth in Challenge B, “Solar Stage.” The team consists of Brandon Lord, Jared Cook, David Zhou, Byana Wyman and Alexis Brown.

“The Crew,” from Cy-Fair High, placed first in Challenge A, “Assembly Required.” The team consisted of Samantha Burdyl, Kaitlyn Cathro, Anoosha Moturu, Margaruite Nixon, Ajinkya Patwardhan, Paige Ruby and Sammi Yarto.

Jersey Village High's Duck Tape Ninjas placed third in Challenge C, “Coming Attractions”; first in Challenge X, “Divide and Conquer”; and third in DI eXtreme. The team consists of Lauren Coats, Krislyn Koehn, Jess Dixon and Angelea Caton.

From Cypress Ranch High School, Team Brick It placed fourth in Challenge A, “Assembly Required.” On the team are Kali Grau, Catherine Goodin, Taylor Sanders, Ryan Willis and Evan Corgiat.

The Funky Monkeys from Yeager Elementary also competed, though they didn't qualify for finals, placing sixth in Challenge A, “Assembly Required.”

Hamilton Middle School's Supernova team placed fifth in Challenge C, “Coming Attractions,” but will not be advancing.

“I’m Botching the Speling” from Jersey Village High placed sixth in Challenge B, “The
Solar Stage,” and did not advance.
