CFISD students win journalism contest
After competing in the Press Women of Texas Edith Fox King 2012 High School Journalism Contest, a number of Cy-Fair ISD student journalists were named winners and had their pieces forwarded to the national competition for judging.
All winners have been invited to attend the annual state conference Saturday, May 5 in Tyler.
Students placing first were: Madelynn Marlow, Cypress Woods, Editorial, "Breaking the Cycle of Cruelty;" Jacob Mansfield, Cy-Fair, News Story, "Protestors 'Occupy' Cities across Nation;" Sarah Smith, Cy-Fair, Reviews, "Refreshing as a Glass of Iced Tea;" Alex Edwards, Cy-Fair, Single-Page Layout, "Photo Essay;" Manjot Jawa, Jersey Village, Double-Truck Layout, "It's a Celebration;" and Daniel Mulholland and Steven Bierwagen, Jersey Village, Video-Sports Story, "Wrestling."
