Former employee accuses Truegreen of retaliation, defamation
A former employee is suing Truegreen, with an office in Cy-Fair, over claims the company wrongfully terminated his employment and maliciously sullied his reputation.
Harris County resident Kenneth K. Slatten Jr. filed a lawsuit on Monday, May 14 in the Harris County District Court against Truegreen Inc., with an office in Cy-Fair, citing slander, libel, defamation and wrongful discharge.
Slatten says in May 2011, Truegreen fired him because he refused to engage in illegal acts regarding his pesticide applicator license.
The suit further alleges that while Slatten looked for a new job, Truegreen lied to prospective employers and said he was fired for lying about an automobile accident involving a company vehicle.
Slatten is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by attorneys at the Voss Law Firm.
