Cypress Ranch student wins McNair Scholarship

Cypress Ranch senior Weston C. Grove was recently named a McNair Scholar at the University of South Carolina.

Cypress Ranch senior Weston C. Grove was recently named a McNair Scholar at the University of South Carolina.

This honor is one of the university's most prestigious scholarships, and Weston was one of only 20 selected out of all the state applicants.

The selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular activities, essays and interviews.

Weston is No. 9 in his class, is a National Merit Scholar, a three-year starter on the Mustang varsity soccer team and is class vice president. He plans to study biomedical engineering.
