An award-winning mixed-media exhibition is coming to Lone Star College.

The college's Bosque Gallery celebrates the work of mixed-media fiber artist Peggy Sexton in a display titled "Boogle Houses" June 4 through July 5. Drawn by a fascination for color, pattern and form, Sexton has become passionate about sculpted surface design. Her art explores opposing forces, expressed through contradiction and the unexpected as she uses materials such as hand-dyed silks.

"I am committed to an artistic process that celebrates creativity and the uniqueness achievable only through imperfection and artistic fallibility," said Sexton in a press release. Her award-winning art cloth, collage and sculpture pieces have been exhibited in galleries throughout the country.

Open house receptions for the show are set for 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. June 13. Attendees will have the chance to meet Sexton and discuss her work with her.

The Bosque Gallery is located in the Center for the Arts building on the Barker Cypress campus, 9191 Barker Cypress. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. For information about the gallery or the show, visit LoneStar.edu/bosquegallery or call 832-482-1038.
