Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce announces 2012 Business of the Year winners
The Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2012 Business of the Year winners, including Ambassador of the Year Christi Love and Chairman's Award winner Debbie Blackshear.
Chrisi Love is the general manager for Community Impact Newspaper-Northwest Houston and has served as a chamber ambassador for two years. She has participated in numerous membership luncheons and special events.
Other nominees for Ambassador of the Year include Catherine Hollis from the Langham Creek YMCA, John Labuda with Mathnasium of Cy-Fair and Victor Varma with Insure US.
Debbie Blackshear is the president of the Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union.
The 2011 Business of the Year winners were as follows:
In the small business category, Your Community Magazine was selected. The business was started by Jody and David Castro 15 years ago and has been a part of the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce for 13 years.
Small business finalists were Insure US and Strong Vision Center.
In the medium business category was winner Energy Capital Credit Union. This business has been a member of the chamber for five years. It adopted Hairgrove Elementary in Cypress Fairbanks ISD as a partner to provide mentoring services for local students and to host school supplies drives.
Finalists in the medium business category were Houston Family Arts Center and Mathnasium of Cy-Fair.
In the large business category, the winner was Texas Emergency Care Center. TECC has been with the chamber for three years. The center supports multiple causes including Salute to the Stars, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, Project Prom and Coach for the Cure. The center also donated the software that high school trainers and staff use for athletic programs.
Finalists in the large business category included Cobb, Fendley & Associates and Langham Creek YMCA.
