Jersey Village High School senior named 2012 Outstanding Scholar-Athlete

Charles Fly

Charles Fly, senior from Jersey Village High School, was recently named the male Outstanding Scholar-Athlete for the Class of 2012 at the High School Spring Sports Scholar-Athlete Dinner at the J.W. Marriott.

He is the first athlete from Jersey Village to receive the honor.

Scholar-athlete finalists from CFISD included Gary Tesch from Cypress Woods, Zackary Hertel from Jersey Village, Allison Artz from Jersey Village and Lauren Fairman from Cypress Lakes.

Fly plays both football and soccer. He also earned Texas High School Coaches Association academic all-state elite status and represented his school on the Wendy's High School Heisman list for 2011.

Fly is a National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar, a member of the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society and earned the JVHS Distinguished Honor Roll Medal.

Jersey Village High School is located at 7600 Solomon St. in Houston.
