Lone Star College-Cy-Fair to hold open auditions for 'A Civil War Christmas'

Auditions for the musical "A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration" will be from 6-9 p.m. June 11 in Lone Star College's Center for the Arts building.

The building is located at 9191 Barker-Cypress Road in Cypress. Auditions will take place in the main stage theater. Appointments must be made in order to audition.

Those auditioning should bring a minute-long monologue as well as a song with accompanying sheet music. A pianist will provide accompaniment; a capella singing or singing to a recording is not allowed. Christmas carols, hymns and spirituals are preferred.

Sixteen actors will be chosen for the musical, which is presented by the music and theater departments at Lone Star College-Cy-Fair. Performance dates are Nov. 2, 3, 9, 10 and 11. Rehearsals start Sept. 17.
