Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council recently recognized the following volunteers and organizations from the Cy-Fair area at its annual adult recognition ceremony.
Recognized volunteers and organizations include: Kelly George, Debra Lewis, Dawn Donaldson, Terri Modgling, Ellen Haynie, Brenda Zimmerman, Alanna Zarosky and Randi and Tony Lewis as well as the Sunflower, Wildwood, Hummingbird Way and White Oak service units.
Awards included the Appreciation Pin, given to Lewis, Donaldson, Haynie, Zimmerman and Zarosky; the Family Award, given to Randy and Tony Lewis; and the President's Award, given to the Sunflower, Wildwood, Hummingbird Way and White Oak service units.
"At 100 years old, I am often asked what has helped our organization endure over time," GSSJC CEO Mary Vitek said in a press release. "I believe the secret to our success is our volunteers. Volunteers represent 99 percent of the adult membership in Girl Scouts, and they work tirelessly to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place today and will, one day, become the future women leaders of our nation. We are proud to have these volunteers leading our young ladies into the next century of Girl Scouting."
