Houston Family Arts Center to hold auditions for production of 'Our Town'
A cast of 35-40 people is needed for the Houston Family Arts Center's production of "Our Town."
Auditions will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 23 at the Houston Family Arts Center. A one-minute memorized dramatic monologue and cold readings from the script will be part of the audition process.
Actors and actresses can make an appointment by emailing auditions@houstonfac.com for an audition time. Please be sure to include your desired role and phone number in your request. Auditions will be performed in front of an audition panel including the director, assistant director/stage manager and producer. Potential actors and actresses should bring a resume and head shot or photo if available. All ethnicities will be considered for all roles. No roles have been precast.
Characters needed include townspeople ages 10-80 and 12 to 13 males and six to seven females ages 10-80 for 18 named roles. If needed, callbacks are scheduled for June 25 from 7-10 p.m.
All individuals cast in the show will receive two complimentary tickets and a $75 stipend at the end of the show's run. Performances are scheduled for Aug. 17 to Sept. 9 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Rehearsals are scheduled for 7-10 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning June 26.
The Houston Family Arts Center is located at 10760 Grant Road.
