PSC nominates local educator for Keep Texas Beautiful youth award

Cypress Montessori School Director Ginger Bian is a winner of the 2012 Sadie Ray Gaff Education Award for her teaching efforts to educate preschoolers about how to do their part to "save the earth."

Keep Texas Beautiful, a statewide grassroots environmental and community improvement nonprofit, announced Cypress Montessori School Director Ginger Bian as a winner of the 2012 Sadie Ray Gaff Education Award on May 15.

The Gaff Award is one of 12 categories in the Keep Texas Beautiful youth and educator awards and recognizes the efforts of educators and educational institutions that encourage youth involvement in promoting the beauty of the state. The award honors Gaff, an educator in San Antonio who began using the Waste In Place curriculum 33 years ago.

Bian received recognition for her teaching efforts to educate preschoolers about how to do their part to "save the earth." For Earth Day, PSC Environmental partnered with Cypress Montessori and discussed the importance of environmental awareness with students.

"At PSC, we aspire to set the benchmarks that ensure our clients meet tomorrow's increasingly tough environmental standards," said PSC Environmental Director Satara Henry in a news release. "We nominated Ginger Bian because her efforts to teach students to respect the environment embody this philosophy."
