Cypress Christian School hosts annual commencement ceremony

On May 25, Cypress Christian School held its 15th annual high school commencement ceremony for its graduating class of 2012.

The 45 graduating seniors received a combined total of more than $3 million in scholarships and were accepted to more that 40 colleges across the United States.

In addition to awarding student diplomas, additional scholarships ranging from $250-$2,500 were awarded during the ceremony. Recipients and their awards include Ben Bennett, valedictorian; John Mock, salutatorian; Jacob Hicks, Dornbusch Science Scholarship sponsored by Expo Chemical Co.; Ben Bennett, Faculty Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Spirit of Paul Scholarship; Kit Rhea and Barnabas Odeyomi, Will Rhodes Athletic Scholarships; Lauren Slater and Connor Sparks, Fine Arts Scholarships in Drama; Travis McGrath and Brianna Ferguson, Fine Arts Scholarships in Music; Samantha Tidwell, Fine Arts Scholarship in Art; Barnabas Odeyomi, Christian Character Scholarship; Lauren Slater, National Merit Commended Student; and David Hurst, National Merit Finalist/Scholar.
