Comcast awards $1,000 scholarships to Houston area students
Two Cypress area students recently were awarded $1,000 scholarships by Comcast as part of its Leaders and Achievers program.
Gary Tesch of Cypress Woods High School and Derrick Wilson of Jersey Valley High School were recognized.
The scholarships identify students who act as catalysts for positive change in their communities, are involved in their schools and serve as models for fellow students.
Tesch plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania, while Wilson will study at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Comcast awarded $52,000 in scholarships to 50 Houston-area high school students this spring.
