Verizon Wireless accepting nominations for Houston-area Wireless Technology Innovation Awards candid
The Wireless Technology Innovation Awards will be hosted by Verizon Wireless for small to medium-sized businesses and organizations owned by women and minorities in the Houston area.
Verizon Wireless will be recognizing an organization with between one and 500 employees for its use of Verizon Wireless mobile technology to improve productivity and better serve the community. The winner will be honored at an awards luncheon and granted $10,000.
"We're proud to foster and recognize innovation by businesses in the Houston area, especially those that have succeeded as minority or women-owned businesses," said Krista Bourne, president, Houston/Gulf Coast region Verizon Wireless, in the press release. "The latest, most advanced wireless technologies, especially 4GLTE broadband services, provide organizations a broad range of possibilities to improve their own operations, efficiency and service."
The 4GLTE network is the company's latest wireless technology, expected to provide service 10 times faster than the current network.
Nominations for the Wireless Technology Innovation Awards are due by Aug. 31. Submissions can be made at vzwinnovationsawards.com or via mail.
The awards luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Magnolia Hotel, 1100 Texas Ave., Houston.
