Orion Energy Systems awards Corrugated Concepts and Packaging
Orion Energy Systems recently awarded an Environmental Stewardship Award to Corrugated Concepts and Packaging for its lighting retrofit project expected to remove 52 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year.
Corrugated Concepts and Packaging will be saving more than 85,000 kilowatt hours and $9,000 each year after replacing more than 300 high intensity discharge fixtures with 254 Orion Energy Systems fluorescent fixtures.
“We had a real lighting problem in our facility,” said CEO Dennis Hoffman in the press release. “We do a lot of printing, because we’re a corrugated box company, and at times, we literally had to take a box and walk over to a doorway where there was more light to see if we were using the right colors. We had some colors on boxes that were real questionable. Now we can print the correct colors. Our old lights, they didn’t produce enough light, they weren’t lined up right; they were just kind of piece-mealed in there. These new lights are fantastic.”
Orion Energy Systems is a technology enterprise that develops high-performance, energy efficient lighting sources. For more information, visit www.oesx.com.
