Voter registration cutoff approaches
Voter registration to be eligible to vote in the July 31 primary runoff election ends Monday, July 2.
Forms must be delivered to a Tax Office branch location before 4:30 p.m. Monday or mailed with a postmark date no later than the cut-off date.
“Each party has unfinished business from its May 29 primary,” said Don Sumners, Harris County tax assessor collector and voter registrar, in a press release, “including selecting its candidate for the U.S. Senate.”
To register, applicants must be a resident of Harris County; be at least 17 years, 10 months old (18 years old to vote); be a U.S. citizen; have never been finally convicted of a felony; and be mentally capable.
To obtain an application, visit a Tax Office branch location, local library or city of Houston community and health center. Applicants may also download a form at www.hcvoter.com.
For more information, contact the Harris County Tax Office Voter Registration Department at 713-368-8683.
