Updates to closure dates, times along IH 10/Katy Freeway, SH 99

Roadways in the IH 10/Katy Freeway and State Highway 99 area will experience several closures beginning Thursday, June 28 to allow for construction for Segment E of Grand Parkway.

According to a press release, the IH 10/Katy Freeway and State Highway 99 eastbound frontage road will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday, June 28 to 5 a.m. Friday, June 29. A detour will take drivers south on SH 99 to Kingsland Boulevard.

Also, from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, both the east- and westbound main lanes of IH 10/Katy Freeway at SH 99 will be shut down. Drivers may bypass this closure by exiting at SH 99/Grand Parkway, taking the frontage road and then reentering the main lanes. The main eastbound lanes of this same section of IH 10/Katy Freeway will be also closed from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, July 1.

The IH 10/Katy Freeway and SH 99 eastbound frontage road will be closed again from 9 p.m. Monday, July 2 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 with the same detour heading south on SH 99 to Kingsland Boulevard.

Although Texas Department of Transportation contractors will try to keep the IH 10/Katy Freeway and SH 99 area open during construction, the release suggested that drivers expect delays and even seek alternate routes.
