Cypress complete Dad's Day 5K

Twenty-eight runners from Cypress completed the Dad's Day 5K on June 16 in Houston, according to a release.

The Cypress runners who participated in the race are Samuel Water, 17, (20:05); London Deloach, 43, (22:18); Antonio Escobar, 48, (22:48); Chris Sills, 42, (22:50); Sean Dooley, 24, (24:50); Joseph Dooley, 54, (25:36); Jackson Dutel, 8, (27:07); Lewis Dutel, 43, (27:08); Jimmy Jircik, 59, (27:32); Robert Robertson, 31, (27:42); Maria Razo, 26, (28:25); Hannah Chaidez, 34, (29:51); Justen Wilson, 28, (31:56); Lisa Honeycutt, 31, (32:20); Jim Saunders, 61, (33:21); Gina Dutel, 43, (35:07); Camille Dutel, 11, (35:07); Patty Jircik, 50, (35:49); Meera Manahan, 45, (35:54); Melissa Bastien, 26, (37:08); Karlee Miller, 16, (37:53); Diane Miller, 46, (37:53); Debbie Ginzel, 49, (37:56); Audrey Jahanian, 18, (37:57); Rachel Groschke, 25, (37:57); Bahman Jahanian, 55, (37:58); Mark Fredenburg, 58, (39:00); and Jean-Jacques Bastien, 34, (40:13).

A total of 860 runners finished the 5K race, which started and ended on Prairie under the Wortham Arch. The course is USATF-certified.

Maximo Mendoza, of Pearland, was the men's overall winner with a time of 15:41, while Lauren Smith, of Lake Jackson, was the women's winner in 17:23.
