Vigil held to honor three-year anniversary of murder
A vigil and prayer session to remember Marcus Washington, who was murdered three years ago, took place in the evening of Tuesday, July 3.
According to a press release, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Crime Stoppers of Houston and members of Washington's family gathered to remember the victim, who was killed July 3, 2009, while working toward a master's degree at the University of Houston.
At 7:30 p.m. the day of the murder, the release stated, Washington's body was found in his apartment, which was located close to the 500 block of Wells Fargo in Harris County. The last time anyone saw him alive, according to the release, was around 8:30 a.m. the day of the murder.
Crime Stoppers is still looking for the suspect and asks anyone with information about the case to call 713-222-TIPS (8477), text TIP610 and the information to CRIMES (274637) or visit www.crime-stoppers.org. Tips that lead to an arrest or felony charges will be rewarded up to $5,000. Individuals who offer tips to Crime Stoppers will be anonymous.
