Case against ClearCorrect stayed
The U.S. District Court for the southern district of Texas suspended a federal patent infringement case filed against a Houston manufacturer of clear teeth aligners.
ClearCorrect LLC announced that the federal patent infringement case filed by competitor Align Technology Inc., maker of Invisalign, has been stayed.
Filed in 2011, the federal case alleges that ClearCorrect infringes several of ATI's patents. ClearCorrect countersued, maintaining it does not infringe any of ATI's valid intellectual property.
In May, the court granted a motion to suspend the case due to overlapping complaints filed by ATI to the U.S. International Trade Commission, the agency responsible for regulating the trade of international goods.
