Harris County Master Gardeners events for August are announced
The Harris County Master Gardeners events for August have been announced.
Gardening lessons, ecology and environmental horticulture will be offered to children from 8:30-11 a.m. Aug. 6 at Genoa Friendship Garden, located at 1202 Genoa Red Bluff in Houston. Tool care and sharpening for adults will also be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Aug. 6 at the same location.
Skip Richter will lead a hands-on workshop titled "Vegetable Gardening and Healthy Eating" at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at Clear Lake Park, 5001 NASA Parkway in Seabrook. Held in the park's meeting room, the class costs $25.
Eulas Stafford of the Plumeria Society will give a free lecture on plumerias at 10 a.m. Aug. 15 in the meeting room at Clear Lake Park.
Open Garden Day will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. Aug. 20 at the Genoa Friendship Garden. Children can make a garden craft, and adults can learn about fertilizers.
