Houston Police arrest suspect in Westpark Drive incident

Authorities arrested and charged a Holland man accused of pointing a gun at a Houston police officer.

Holland resident Kendrick Bernard Jackson, 26, faces charges of aggravated assault against a public servant and felon in possession of a weapon after a June 21 incident at an apartment complex located at 10001 Westpark Drive, according to a Houston Police Department news release.

Police say they responded to the apartments at approximately 5 p.m. after Jackson was allegedly spotted in the parking lot holding a pistol.

Jackson reportedly attempted to run, but when officers gave chase, he pointed his pistol at one of them. The officer fired one shot, but did not strike the suspect, according to the release.

Police eventually caught up with and arrested Jackson. He will answer the charges against him in the 178th State District Court at a later date, according to the release.
