Clay YMCA undergoes expansion and renovation

The Clay Road Family YMCA is undergoing a $2 million expansion and renovation project that will allow the center to serve more Houston area families. The project began in May of this year. The expected date of completion is December 8, 2009.
The additional space will enable more programs for youth and adults, better quality camping experiences for day campers, larger workout and exercise space.
The renovations include:
-2,190 sq. ft. Strength and Cardio Room
-2,600 sq. ft. Group Exercise Room
-1,405 sq. ft. Multipurpose Room
-New cardiovascular equipment with personal viewing screens
-Upgraded flooring in corridor and locker rooms
-New check-in area for ChildWatch
-Camera surveillance system- interior and exterior
-New spacious lobby area featuring new furniture and WiFi
"New equipment and added space is always great but what makes this improvement so spectacular is the YMCA now has more room to bring more people together," says Center Executive Dione Booker. "More programs will allow us to build relationships and affect the community in a positive way."
