Memorial Hermann Bridgeland Triathlon takes place Aug. 5

The 2012 Memorial Hermann Bridgeland Triathlon will be held at 6:45 a.m. Aug. 5 at Bridgeland Community, located at 16919 N. Bridgeland Lake Parkway in Cypress.

The USA Triathlon-sanctioned event is sold out, but names are still being accepted on a waiting list. The entry fee is $100 per person.

Participation in a USAT-sanctioned event means the director of the competition has the proper permits in place, liability, athlete excess medical insurance coverage and has met standards set by the organization.

USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multisport races, according to the USAT website.

Bridgeland Community is located at the intersection of Park Road and Fry Road in Cypress.
