Dr. Korsh Jafarnia named top doctor four years running
Korsh Jafarnia recently was named as Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctor in his field, an honor the hand specialist from Houston has earned four years in a row.
Jafarnia, who is the chief of Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at Willowbrook Hospital, also was featured in the premier listing of America's top medical professionals, according to a press release issued about the recognition.
The consecutive titles put Jafarnia among the top 1 percent of physicians in his field based on peer reviews, professional accomplishments and experience.
Adding to his experience, Jafarnia is now the director of the newly-opened The Hand Center at Methodist Willowbrook. He specializes in carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's contracture, trigger finger and fracture repair, among other injuries.
While completing his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Jafarnia studied advanced techniques in hand surgery at the French Institute for Hand Surgery in Paris before completing a fellowship in hand and upper-extremity surgery at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital.
The press release also states that Jafarnia earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand and is a published author, who also has been named a top doctor by Newsweek magazine, U.S. News & World Report, Texas Monthly and H-Texas magazine.
