Cy-Fair company, Memorial man sued after fatal jobsite accident
Family members are suing a Cy-Fair company and a Memorial man over claims a workplace accident resulted in the death of a family member.
Bertila Chicas, individually and on behalf of the deceased Santiago Chicas and others, filed lawsuit claiming negligence against Waters International, of Cy-Fair, Spartan Equipment and Supply, and Memorial resident Peyton Waters Jr.
Chicas says 63-year-old Santiago Chicas died after falling off a ladder March 17 while cleaning out the gutters of Waters' residence, located in the 40 block of Windermere Lane in Memorial.
The defendants knew the job could be dangerous and failed to provide a safe work environment for Chicas, the plaintiffs claim in the brief.
The plaintiffs seek damages and court costs for negligence. They are being represented in the case by Houston attorney Terry Bryant.
