H-GAC launches new website and pediatric video on YouTube Channel
The Houston-Galveston Area Council has launched a new website and pediatric video aimed at families caring for children.
The new media campaign seeks to reach families and children with access and functional support needs. The Together Against the Weather website provides area residents with new tools to help them better prepare for hazards, especially weather-related dangers.
"For the millions of people who have physical, medical or other special needs, emergencies such as hurricanes, fires, floods and other disasters are particularly difficult," said Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, in a press release. "Having an emergency plan remains the most important tool to keep you safe."
The new video geared for children demonstrates how to plan for a hurricane, including evacuation tips and how to prepare a shelter-in-place.
A Harris County version of the video can be viewed on the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management's YouTube channel.
The new website can be viewed online by visiting togetheragainsttheweather.com.
The Houston-Galveston Area Council's website is h-gac.com.
