Cy-Fair hospital blamed for fatal fall
A Cy-Fair hospital is being sued over claims its failure to provide proper care caused a patient's death.
Cecil Ramsey, Stephen Ramsey and others filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the deceased Wanda Beth Ramsey against North Cypress Medical Center on July 25 in Harris County District Court.
The Ramsey family says Wanda Ramsey died on Nov. 29, 2010, after she fell in a North Cypress Medical Center hospital room. The suit alleges nursing staff left Ramsey unattended, even though they knew she was at risk of falling.
The fall, which occurred on Nov. 20, 2010, caused her to develop fatal hematomas, according to the brief.
The family is seeking damages and court costs. They are being represented in the case by The Woodlands attorney Tommy Hastings.
