Women's group to host boot camp
The Women Are Game Changers group will hold a boot camp for women entrepreneurs Monday, Oct. 15.
The program is designed to help women grasp the benefits of social media, blogging and online networking. Participants should bring their laptops, iPads or tablets to take part in the interactive boot camp and learn about a variety of topics.
Vaernetta Freeney, Editor in Chief of the Women Are Game Changers website, will present Get LinkedIn, a discussion of online connections. Internet marketing specialist Alexandra Velez will present on the monetization of social media.
Engineer and blogger Shalanda Turner will present Authority in My Niche, discussing her success as a fashion blogger and her online fan base. Author and blogger Jamie Fleming-Dixon will discuss branding in the blogging community and her blog For Colored Gurls.
Finally, entrepreneur LaRachelle Smith will discuss the benefits of social media marketing, including business strategies to get the most out of social media.
The WAGC boot camp will take place at 7 p.m. at Elegance, located at 11902 Jones Road, Suite D, in Cy-Fair.
