"Mrs. Hayes is the epitome of a 21st-century social studies teacher," Pahmiyer said in a press release. "She is committed to social studies education as well as the welfare of the students at Cypress Creek High School. She continues to impress me with her knowledge, skill and dedication to her work, and is an excellent representative of the Texas Council for the Social Studies." A social studies teacher and the 2011-2012 president-elect for the Cypress Fairbanks Council for Social Studies, Hayes has participated in a number of community programs through social studies organizations.
