Cy-Fair ISD names new associate superintendent

Linda Macias was recently named the new associate superintendent for curriculum, instruction and accountability for Cy-Fair Independent School District at the board of trustees' regular Monday meeting.   Macias has been in education for 20 years, having started her career as a bilingual teacher for six years in Houston Independent School District and Yeager Elementary School in CFISD.    She went on to serve five years as CFISD's bilingual/ESL coordinator, three years as the director for curriculum and instruction for special populations and six years as the assistant superintendent for elementary instruction.   Macias earned her bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University and her master's degree with a mid-management certification from Prairie View A&M University. She received superintendent certification from Stephen F. Austin State University and earned her doctorate in leadership from the University of Houston in 2011.   "I am very excited to be working with the elementary and secondary curriculum and campus teams to meet the instructional needs of all our Cy-Fair students," Macias said in the press release.   For more information about CFISD, call 281-807-8939 or email kelli.durham@cfisd.net.
