Cypress surgeon accused of performing unnecessary lung removal surgery
A Montgomery County woman is suing over claims a Cypress surgeon unnecessarily removed part of her lung after misdiagnosing her with cancer.
Cheryl Bullard filed a medical negligence lawsuit Aug. 12 in the Harris County District Court against Clifford Kitten of Cypress, and KPS Cardiovascular Surgery.
Bullard says in January 2011, Kitten told her she had cancer and explained he needed to remove part of her right lung to treat the cancer. She underwent the surgery, returned home and then suffered a heart-attack from a blood clot, according to the brief.
The suit alleges Bullard endured all of this, but never did have cancer. Instead, she suffered from pneumonia, the brief states.
Bullard is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by the Houston law firm Davis & Davis.
