Baker Nissan moves to new location
Baker Nissan is relocating its north-side dealership to property on Northwest Freeway. According to Beth Baker, human resources manager for Baker Nissan, the new dealership will be located at 19630 Northwest Freeway, just down the road from its current site. The opening is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 21. "A major factor in selecting this site was its premier location on the Northwest Freeway at FM 1960, which will provide even better access for our customers," Baker said in a press release. "This is also a great opportunity for Baker Nissan to expand our already strong presence on the north side of Houston, and the new dealership represents a mini-redevelopment project for the area, turning an underutilized parcel into a significant sales tax generator." The new facility will include a showroom with expanded sales floor to accommodate more vehicles, a larger service shop and a fresh design. It will also feature green elements such as Nissan Leaf charging stations, more energy-efficient HVAC units and lighting, plus automatic faucets and hand dryers in the restrooms to reduce water and paper waste. The car wash will include a water recycling system, and the company will continue to recycle all used oil and tires, according to the release. The new store will cover approximately 80,000 square feet and will employ around 155 people. The dealership expects to hire an additional 20 staff members for the new location.
