North Cypress Medical Center gets new PET-CT scanner

The Imaging Service Department of the North Cypress Medical Center has a new tool to help physicians better detect cancers and dementia.   In a press release issued on Aug. 27, the medical center stated that it has acquired a Biograph mCT PET-CT scanner manufactured by Siemens, a global company that produces electronics and electrical engineering.    The Biograph mCT uses molecular imaging to provide additional metabolic information to physicians. It offers better digital imaging than traditional CT scanners, a larger scanning zone and a faster scanning process. According to the issued press release, the scanner is able to detect cancer lesions and signs of dementia in the brain.   North Cypress Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Cypress, located at 21214 NW Freeway.
