Harris County Appraisal District gathers school supplies

Harris County Appraisal District personnel from the Information and Assistance division fill backpacks with school supplies before delivering them to the YMCA's Operation Backpack school supply drive.

Employees of the Harris County Appraisal District recently partnered to donate 34 backpacks filled with school supplies for the Houston YMCA's Operation Backpack program.

Around 125 employees participated in the project to buy and fill school backpacks for returning students in Harris County, according to a press release.

"The initial plan was for each of the 12 section managers to buy a backpack and have employees bring in the school supplies to fill them," said Bonnie Hebert, Appraisal District division director, in the release. "But, as it turns out, there were many generous employees who bought backpacks and school supplies, and now we have leftover supplies to donate as well."

The Harris County Appraisal District is located at 13013 Northwest Freeway in Houston.
