High school football, Cy Ranch vs. Cy Creek, preview

The Cy Ranch High School football team will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 13 when it hosts Cy Creek in a 7 p.m. game.

Cy Ranch lost 34-6 to Katy Cinco Ranch in its opener on Friday, Aug. 31. Cole Martin scored the lone touchdown of the game on a one-yard run in the third quarter.

Cy Ranch managed only 165 yards and allowed 488. It didn't help its cause that it turned the ball over seven times.

Cy Creek defeated Klein Oak 24-21 in its opener on Friday, Sept. 7. The Cougars led 17-14 entering the fourth quarter and sealed the deal when Bobby Chan Chan caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Cole Barbe for a 24-14 advantage. It was one of two scoring strikes he caught on the night.

Cy Creek churned out 386 yards and allowed 340. Chan Chan caught seven passes for 80 yards while Barbe completed 29 of his 40 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns.

Cy Creek will play Cy Falls on Saturday Sept. 22 and travel to Cy Springs on Saturday, Sept. 29. Both games will begin at 6 p.m. The Cougars play at Jersey Village on Friday, Oct. 5 in a 7 p.m. game.

Cy Ranch will play at Jersey Village on Saturday, Sept. 22 (6 p.m.) and will play at Langham Creek on Friday, Sept. 28 (7 p.m.). Cy Ranch plays at Cy Ridge on Saturday, Oct. 6.
