Jersey Village girls volleyball knocks off Cypress Lakes
The Houston Jersey Village High School girls volleyball team needed four games to knock off Houston Cypress Lakes in a district match Sept. 11.
Cypress Lakes won the opener 25-22 but Jersey Village won the next three games by the scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-12.
The Falcons improved to 12-14 overall and to 2-3 in the district. The Spartans dropped to 3-13 overall and to 1-4 in district action.
Chelsey Brown and Kaila Overton led the way for Jersey Village, tallying 15 kills apiece. Brianna Hudson hammered nine kills for Cypress Lakes.
The Spartans will next play at Cy Falls on Friday, Sept. 14 in a 4:30 p.m. encounter and Langham Creek on Tuesday, Sept. 18 in a 6 p.m. match. They will then play at Cy-Fair on Friday, Sept. 21 in a 6 p.m. match.
Jersey Village will next play Cy-Creek on Friday, Sept. 14 in a 6 p.m. match and Cy-Ridge on Tuesday, Sept. 18 in a 5 p.m. match. The Falcons will then play at Langham Creek on Tuesday, Sept. 25 in a 5 p.m. tilt.
